Purpose of the Position:

The Academic Advisor I/II is responsible to advise engineering students on and creates academic plans to ensure degree completion and serves as a resource of transfer and articulation processes for engineering students, faculty and staff.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Advises first-time, full-time engineering students on curriculum and creates academic plans to ensure degree completion at Advisor I or II level.
• Monitors student progress and develops proactive retention plans based upon each student's academic and personal needs/circumstances at Advisor I or II level.
• Assists students seeking seeking resources for experiential learning opportunities, study abroad and graduate study at the Advisor I/II level.
• Support Orientation events for new students including advising and creation of student academic records. (10-12 sessions annually)
• Supporting events such as college fairs and recruiting sessions at high schools, community colleges, and university dual-degree partners. (10-15 annually)
• Develop and implement non-academic programming that supports student success.
Advisor I level.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• 0-2 years of full-time verifiable academic advising or related work experience
• Must possess superior organizational and verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office

Desired Qualifications:

• Advisor II level: 2 years of full-time verifiable work experience in academic advising or a related area in a higher education setting providing direct services to students.

Published Salary (if available):

$39,500 - $42,000
