Purpose of the Position:

The Research Scientist III will provide geospatial and information technology assistance and specialization for the Inter-Agency Implementation and Advanced Concepts Team (IMPACT) in the Earth Systems Science Center. The candidate will be expected to work on data science issues in research and operational frameworks.

Duties / Responsibilities
• The candidate will develop and implement software across multiple projects.
• Communicate in written and oral format with UAH and NASA IMPACT team members.
• Present at major conferences.
• Write peer-reviewed publications.
• Write reports as needed.
Minimum Requirements:

• Master's degree in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• 2.5 - 3 years of full-time verifiable work experience
• Extensive experience in geospatial data sets and technologies
• Hands on experience with numerical models for earth science applications
• Proven record of peer reviewed publications
• Extensive Programming experience
• Excellent communication skills
Desired Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science, Earth Science, Remote Sensing, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience is preferred
• Proposal writing experience is preferred
Published Salary (if available):

$88,528 - $94,170
