Purpose of the Position:

The Coordinator for Student Engagement is responsible for visioning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating all areas within Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) and the Student Programming Board (ACE). This position must maintain regular office hours on campus that may or may not match standard business hours. Flexible scheduling is necessary for this position to provide supervision of activities and events taking place in evenings and on weekends.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Facilitate the planning, implementation and evaluation of registered student organizations and working with students to develop, organize, and promote a wide-range of student activities and programs
• Design, develop, implement, and market programs designed to involve students in student organizations including , but not limited to, organization fairs each semester
• Review, evaluate, and update student organization policies, procedures, and processes
• Develop programs to bridge the gap between student interest and engagement in student organizations
• Serve as the primary coordinator and manager of the student organization registration process
• Coordinate with relevant University stakeholders to ensure efficiency and equality with the student organization registration process and procedures
• Provide consulting, support, and resources for registered student organizations officers, members, and advisors in matters concerning student organization development, registration, risk management and training, and leadership development
• Work collaboratively with Coordinator for Leadership and Service for development, management, and presentation of seminars in leadership development, promotion and publicity, event planning, risk management, and personal development for student organization leaders and advisors
• Work with faculty, academic staff, and deans to identify major-based clubs and organizations and support their development
• Work closely with and advise the SGA RSO committee, overseeing funding for all RSO’s
• Responsible for the overall management and supervision of the student programming board, including programming, events and activities, recruitment, supervision, training and development, budget management, and records
• Assist student programming board in compromising a co-curricular calendar encompassing cultural, entertainment, social, and recreational activities
• Oversee campus wide programming, including weekend and late night programming
• Attend regional and national conferences with student leaders on programming board
• Work collaboratively with students, faculty, administrators, and alumni to create an inclusive, positive, and team-oriented approach to the delivery of programs and services
• Develop a shared vision and oversee programmatic areas of campus programming board and student organizations
• Serve on committees as appropriate and/or requested
• Have a demonstrated commitment to Student Life through the participation and involvement in national associations, conference, and other professional development opportunities
• Develop programmatic assessments and participate in departmental and divisional assessment projects
• Assist with university tradition events including Week of Welcome, Homecoming, Family Weekend, summer Orientation, visit days, and open houses.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience / 1-3 years of verifiable work experience in Student Activities at a college or university (Graduate experience is acceptable)/must have knowledge of student development theories, student learning, and student success factors/knowledge of Microsoft Office/must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Desired Qualifications:

Master's Degree in College Student Affairs, Personnel, or related field is preferred/experience with assessing student learning and satisfaction / 2 years of professional experience with student programming, event planning, and/or working with student organizations.

43,888-45,000
