Purpose of the Position:

The Competitive Sports Coordinator will oversee and implement all Intramural Sports activities as well as develop and support all Club Sports. There will be extensive communication and collaboration with the campus community including students and other campus partners and departments.

Duties/Responsibilities
• Screen, interview, hire, train and evaluate a staff of 20+ Intramural Sports Officials;
• Schedule shifts of all Intramurals Officials; plan, implement and evaluate all Intramural Sports programming
• Create and manage sport leagues and tournaments; write, review, implement and enforce all policies, procedures and rules for Intramural Sports; develop and implement student officiating training for all Intramural Sports
• Conduct meetings and training sessions to inform Intramural Sports participants of policies, procedures and rules; conduct disciplinary conduct matters with all student employees.
• Develop, oversee and assist 15 Sport Clubs, as well as recruit and advocate for new Sport Clubs on campus
• Supervise and monitor Sport Club activities including practices, competitions and travel
• Create and conduct Sport Club Officer Trainings each academic year; write, review and implement all policies, procedures and rules for Sport Clubs.
• Collaborate with other departments on campus to provide events, opportunities and information to students on behalf of University Recreation, including New Student Orientation, RA Training, Week of Welcome, Leadership Conferences, Homecoming and Family Weekend.
• Work with the Facility coordinator to oversee University Recreation Outdoor Facilities (Intramural Fields and Disc Golf Course), as well as coordinate maintenance; manage a programming budget for Intramural Sports and Sport Clubs
• Responsible for monthly reconciliations of the program purchasing card
• Maintain and update the website and social media as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• 1 - 2 years of full-time work experience
• Ability to work nights and weekends
• Experience training, developing, and evaluating sports officials
• CPR/AED/First Aid, or within the first 2 months of employment

Desired Qualifications:

• Master's degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience
• CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor

Published Salary (if available):

$37,318 - $37,500
