Purpose of the Position:

The Associate Director of Recruitment is a member of the Admissions Leadership Team and will report to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. The Associate Director oversees the recruitment and yield strategies for established recruitment markets for incoming undergraduate students. They will be responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training, management, and continuous development of a team of admissions counselors. Additionally, they are charged with overseeing and expanding Dual Enrollment offerings with area high schools. Working with the Director and other campus partners, they will also develop and implement new strategies to support the university’s enrollment goals.

Duties / Responsibilities
• Lead and supervise 4-6 regional admissions counselors responsible for the recruitment and yield of developing markets. This includes directing their work, providing continuous feedback, and evaluating their performance.
• Manage a recruitment territory of incoming first-year students. Travel to recruitment territories as needed approximately 6-12 weeks throughout the year. Communicate with incoming students, parents, and school counselors through multiple platforms, including a recruitment CRM. Attend high school visits, college fairs, and other off campus recruitment activities on behalf of the university.
• Coordinate the Office of Admissions participation and attendance at campus and community events.
• Develop and implement recruitment and yield strategies in line with institutional enrollment priorities. Stay informed of new industry practices and attend professional conference to gain insight on strategic opportunities.
• Represent the Office of Admissions at on-campus recruitment events including preview days, open house events, admitted student events, and new student orientation.
• Act as liaison with Alumni Relations to coordinate alumni participation in recruitment events and activities.
• Utilize the recruitment CRM to manage student data and reports.
• Other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and years of experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in higher education, recruitment, marketing, and/or sales.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and public speaking skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel.
• Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with the ability to be insured by the university.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior experience working in undergraduate admissions at a four-year non-profit college or university.
• Prior experience supervising full-time staff.
• Proven track record overseeing personal or team new student enrollment growth.
• Prior experience in a strategic planning process.
• Prior experience using a recruitment CRM.

Published Salary (if available):

$55,000 - $60,000
